Today is National Pay Equity Day http://www.pay-equity.org/day.html. As indicated on the Website of the National Committee on Pay Equity, “This date symbolizes how far into the year women must work to earn what men earned in the previous year.”
Rather than publish a new article I turn to a piece that I posted on LinkedIn in February of this year, How Much is a Woman Fundraiser’s Work Worth:

As you will see from reviewing the article, there continues to be a significant disparity in pay between male and female fundraisers:
With regard to women fundraisers, the 2015 Association of Fundraising Professionals cites a significant pay gap between male and female fundraising professionals in the United States. The average salary for male fundraisers was $94,821 and for woman fundraisers was only $70,366. That gap was similarly large for Canadian fundraisers — $100,799 for male fundraisers and $80,135 for women.
What a woman to do? AAUW provides workshops designed to assist women with negotiating a fair salary, you will learn more when you read my original post. I also invite you to submit your thoughts and comments on this topic because we all stand to learn from one another.
