Seeking Planned Gifts? Click to Read This New Study

Everything Research Can Tell You About Legacy Giving in 2018, released by the University of Plymouth (yes, in the UK), shares exciting news about legacy giving. What is one key finding?

The vast majority of people, approximately 75%, are inclined to want to leave a legacy.

What’s more, many people who plan to leave a legacy scrimp and save in order to ensure that the gift is fulfilled.

The study also reminds us when people are most likely to make a will. For those seeking planned gifts this is the time when a prospective donor might add your nonprofit to their list of heirs. So when are people likely to develop or update a will? When there are changes in:

family, wealth or health.

So too, people are likely to consider changing a will (which might mean including or excluding your nonprofit) due to other life events. What types of events might those be? The passing of a spouse or partner, birth of a grandchild, or disease diagnosis might all result in a person reviewing their will.

I recently presented a webinar in which I covered key points from the legacy study. Would you like to learn more? If yes, please visit my site here. Please include your name, in the Message Box please say . . .

I would love to learn more about legacy giving.

If there is sufficient interest I will arrange a budget friendly, 45-minute webinar to be held this fall.

You are also welcome to contact me directly at sophie@i5fundraising.com. (FYI happy to answer your question just because I like to help, it’s free).  I look forward to hearing from you.
